THURSDAY: School’s out! Say hello to summer with Goodbye to All That!, a play written by Charles Vanover. Vanover gives audiences the inside track of accomplished Chicago educator, Addison Ashland, and her last year in the public school system. Vanover’s play asks questions about how to keep good teachers at schools that serve black students — a tough and important question. Ashland struggled but remained committed, making difficult choices along the way. Bob Devin Jones directs the staged reading and will moderate a backtalk after the show. Come at 6 p.m. to see local students make presentations in the Studio Lobby. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert.
