Do This: Rays watch party at Green Bench

Come to Green Bench for a night of craft beer, food, and fun. Oh, and baseball.

Rays Watch Party
July 8, 7-10 p.m. Green Bench Brewing Co., 1133 Baum Ave. N, St. Pete. Event on Facebook.

So the Rays are out of town, playing in Boston, but lucky you: You don’t have to sit on those 100 year-old wooden seats behind a post at Fenway to catch the action! Here in sunny St. Pete, you have the better option of heading over to Green Bench to grab dollar-off beers (Rays fans only!) and watch the game on the big screen. Sure, it may feel like a hot humid hell outside, but it still beats most places on earth. Throughout the night Green Bench will offer a buck off beers to anyone wearing Tampa Bay Rays gear. This also includes X-Rays Spex’s — St. Pete’s own Rays fan site — own designs (which include the cleverly designed punk rock puns such as "The Raymones" and "Black Flag’s Rays Above" logo).

Once the sun sets, they'll project the game on the big screen in the courtyard, where beers will be enjoyed and baseball will be watched. By us. Be sure to stop by the Baseball Forever tent to learn more about the city-led initiative to keep the Rays home in St. Pete. A food truck will also serve food, 'cause that's what food trucks do. Oh, and that big blue thing called Raymond with be scaring the hell out of kids while he gives more Rays stuff away. Brought to you by X-Rays Spex, Suburban Apologists, Baseball Forever, Green Bench, the number 7, and the letter D. Check it out.
