Best Dance Scene Mover and Shaker

Andee Scott

With a relentless devotion to keeping dance alive, Andee Scott has become a formidable force in the local scene. An assistant professor at the University of South Florida, Scott’s primary motivation is connecting artists for the purpose of showcasing their individual talent and creativity. She has done so while challenging the restraints that artists face due to a lack of funding. Forging connections with dancers and choreographers from across the country, she curated (and toured with) Woman’s Work: Reconstruction of Self and Sola, two productions that showcased the presence of women in dance. Her umbrella project, Dance Linkages, was created to engage the community in arts at the university level.
