Actual Bank Robbers The 1975-esque boy band brings its pop sound to the bar outside of Jannus known for its music on July 27. Tiny Office Concert w/Olivia Romano Fan’s of NPR’s “Tiny Desk” series now have the chance to experience something like it right here in Tampa Bay, as USF St. Pete hosts its own version with St. Pete- local indie-folk singer-songwriter, Olivia Romano. After playing all around the city at local venues, Romano — a young guitarist who covers a variety of artists like Shawn Mendes to Leonard Cohen — is ready to try her hand at this new show series. Empire Cinema w/Pathos Pathos/Jordan Esker Pathos, Pathos — an Orlando trio which arrives in Ybor City on the day before it releases a new EP — is the perfect foil to some of the shadowy sounds of headliners Empire Cinema (whose single, “Pretty Reckless,” CL debuted in March). “Covered In Moonlight,” the Lucky Charm EP’s lead single, is a two-and-a-half blast of infectious indie-pop that features a bouncy lead guitar line flying in and out of frontman James Murphy’s abstract lyrics about loneliness. Crystal Garden There’s no doubt that a legion of Bay area-based Dave Matthews Band fans travelled to Jacksonville for a May solo set by Dave Matthews , but they won’t have to log the miles for a taste of violinist Boyd Tinsley, who arrives at the listening space above Rock Brothers Brewing’s tasting room for a two-night stand in support of a debut LP, Let the Rocks Cry Out, which Boyd’s side project, Crystal Garden, released in March. Historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater is hosting a three-night stand of the beloved 50s musical Bye Bye Birdie. Performing the Tony-winning play are summer enrollees of Ruth Eckerd Hall’s own Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts, which is one of the largest art educators in the country.
