Row Jomah is cutting the band in half for the no-cover BBQustic series at New World Brewery, which means it’s just singer-guitarist Joe Roma and keyboardist Austin Llewellyn performing.
Roma told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that for the socially-distanced outside show, the pair will be “delivering acoustic-oriented versions of Row Jomah originals with some tasty covers thrown in the mix.” Some of those covers are sure to include the Talking Heads, which Row Jomah has been dedicating entire shows to lately. And though it’s just a two-piece for the night, Roma’s vocal range will ensure no empty spots in his band’s jammy, rock-fusion goodness.
Stick around after Row Jomah, for a performance from Fat Jim Morrison, who is taking on the role of Santa for the night. There will be slurry, crotchety versions of the Doors and bitching about the holidays (pretty much like my family Christmas parties before my dad stopped drinking). And no, you cannot sit on Santa’s lap.
Don’t forget New World is taking COVID-19 seriously, as it should, so capacity is at 25% and masks are required.
