Sometimes a show is so sold-out that even your closest friends don’t get in, and that’s what happened Monday, 10 days before St. Patrick’s Day, when the Dropkick Murphys—in full support of Ukraine, with the nation’s flag taped to the monitors—landed at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. The Bombpops and Rumjacks warmed up a crowd already hopped up on Guinness and Irish car bombs ahead of the show. The Bombpops and Rumjacks opened the show.
