He has the stentorian voice, he's everyman handsome, has good taste in ties, an easy confident delivery, and, like Gayle, he's welcome in most people's living rooms. But Bob has that little extra, that little glint in his eye or the slight smirk that he uses at just the appropriate times. These say to the viewer, "Isn't this some ridiculous shit?" Or, "This guy we're reporting on is a real asshole, isn't he?" Plus, Bob's very good with a quip.
