One of the most intriguing parts about being a modern virgin is that everyone assumes that I am not a virgin. Unlike in the 1800s when being a virgin was easily deciphered by a wedding ring, nowadays people tend to assume that if you left high school you left your virginity there, too.
I've never been one to conform to trends or to allow others to dictate how I act, which applies to my sex life as well as my dress. I don't particularly like wearing turtlenecks, frocks, or burkhas — I like wearing tight jeans, low-cut shirts and dresses. However, my choice of clothes often only adds to a man's confusion when I tell him I am a virgin.
