While there was mayhem in the streets of Oakland with the Occupy movement, in Tampa, police removed several tables that the group Occupy Tampa had assembled along the sidewalk on North Ashley Drive in Tampa next to Curtis Hixon Park, and told organizers they would be allowed to have just one table on the site. At the group's General Assembly meeting that evening much of the discussion centered on exactly what type of table to purchase.

That wat the main interaction on Tuesday with the TPD. But activists with the group say their main goal these days to to be able to have a park in Tampa that they can call their own to occupy 24/7.

But one Tampa City Council member says that's probably not going to happen.

Councilman Mike Suarez says he generally has a positive attitude about what the protesters have been up to in Tampa in recent weeks, but he draws the line when it comes to having the city produce a park for the activists to demonstrate in.
