9:30 a.m. Surreal Procession from the old Dalí Museum at 1000 Third St. S to the new Dalí Museum at One Dalí Boulevard.
11 a.m. Dedication program with S.A.R. la Infanta Cristina of Spain, Duchess of Palma de Mallorca, and ribbon-cutting (at the new museum). Free outdoor entertainment continues until 3 p.m.
12:45 p.m. After the ceremony, the museum will open until 3 p.m. for visitors who have purchased advance, timed tickets online.
WED. JAN. 12
Open to the public for normal operating hours. Mon.-Wed., Fri., Sat., 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Thurs., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., noon-5:30 p.m.
What's on view
The museum's extensive holdings of art by Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. Coming in 2013: An exhibition focusing on Dalí's relationship to Picasso.
