Welcome to your Tuesday, Tampa Bay area residents. And let me be the last person to coo how much they're digging the temporary "cooling" phase of life in West Central Florida. What a relief to have to look for a long-sleeved t-shirt to wear while going running this morning.

Okay, on to reality: But first, look, we totally get it that those folks who purchased tickets to Game Four of the ALDS are upset that the game time is 2:07 p.m., and now perhaps can't attend. That's not fair.
But enough of the inferiority complex about the Rays getting "screwed over" because, well, they're from Tampa Bay, and not playing in prime time.

Folks, up until 15 years ago, there were only 4 teams who made it to the MLB playoffs, and one league would play the "day game" (1PM PST, 4PM EST), and then have an 8PM EST. Now, with four different games, the league tries to spread out the times on days like today when 4 games are happening. That's why the Arizona-Milwaukee game is starting at 9:37 PM EST. So somebody has to play early. Enough with the "we don't get any respect' routine!

Okay, on to news. You may or may not have seen that CL was the only print/website media organization that covered the Occupy Tampa protest last Saturday. Another paper of note weighs in today, but from sort of a different perspective. Meanwhile, we just hope that our mayor and TPD are monitoring all of the settlements being paid out by law enforcement agencies in the region where the last RNC was held.

Florida's decision by its GOP leaders to have its presidential primary happy in late January of next year is pissing off a lot of people, with the latest being the editorial board at the Wall Street Journal.

And Herman is coming to St. Pete tomorrow afternoon. Dude is hot after his success in Florida in a poll where less than 3,000 people voted, but hey, it adds excitement to the presidential race, right?

And technical difficulties – yeah, I hate that phrase, are preventing us from recording a MPR podcast. We hope to have that corrected soon.
