Last year, we broke the TV Anchor category into Male and Female. Not surprisingly, Bob and Gayle, as in Sierens, won. This year, Bob won — by a teensy bit. We can only hope that this does not cause a big feud and outbreaks of chair-throwing on the Channel 8 set between the Bay area´s two most venerable talking heads. Hite´s style, while serious, has a hint of self-deprecation that makes him easygoing and likeable. For instance, he´s open about his general lack of interest in local team sports, which could be a detriment for a less-entrenched figure. FYI, Ch. 10´s Reginald Roundtree was a close third.
