The Tampa mayoral race is, well, if not "heating" up, perhaps thawing out a bit.
There are dozens of forums and debates that will start taking place over the course of the next six weeks, but Bob Buckhorn wants to make it a little easier for the interested Tampa voter to learn about what he's all about.
Opting to exploit the tools that social media provides, the former city councilman will host a live video town hall meeting on Facebook Wednesday, January 19, at 8 p.m. est.
In a press release issued Tuesday morning, Buckhorn says the live chat will give him the chance to interact directly with the public on the issues of the day.
Technology is a great tool that can be utilized to make City Government more open and efficient. This video town hall gives me the unique opportunity to connect with voters in their homes through Facebook, a platform that people already use and are familiar with. You can count on the Buckhorn administration to use tool like these to save money, encourage accountability and streamline city services," said Buckhorn.
