Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday scheduled special elections this fall to replace former Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill, and the late Rep. Joe Casello, D-Boynton Beach.

DeSantis issued orders scheduling special primary elections in Senate District 11 and House District 90 on Sept. 30 and special general elections, if needed, on Dec. 9.

Ingoglia was sworn in Monday as state chief financial officer after being appointed by DeSantis to the Cabinet post. Casello died Friday.

Senate District 11 is made up of Citrus, Hernando, Sumter and part of Pasco counties, while House District 90 is in Palm Beach County.
