In Tampa, a lot is on the line for citizens — issues from public transportation to homelessness to incentives for small businesses. If you live in the city, please come out and vote for Tampa Mayor and City Council seats 1-7.

Tonight, candidates will be celebrating at local restaurants and parties, where you can eat, drink and watch election results.

At 7:30 p.m., City Council Candidate Kelly Benjamin, Dist. 6, pictured,  will be at the Refinery in Seminole Heights tonight celebrating with his supporters and many friends, and so Carroll "Carrie" West, Dist. 5, will be at Hamburger Mary's in Ybor.

Mayoral candidate Ed Turanchik is kicking it up in style and, might we say, is a tad bit optimistic in calling his bash the Election Night Victory Party. Join him at The Centre Club in Westshore. The club is located on the top of the parking garage behind the Intercontinental Hotel at the corner of Kennedy and Westshore, 123 S. Westshore Blvd. Take the parking garage elevator to the fifth floor.

After all the election hubbub is over, tune into Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy (I know, I know, I know — just this once, okay?). In the second half-hour of the show, the show features the bay area's legendary, old-time-Florida roadside attraction with mermaids swimming in the crystal clear waters of Weeki Wachee Springs. After learning the history of the attraction, Larry meets a former mermaid who swam for Elvis. Then he's fitted for a mer-man tail, learns the routine and performs underwater.
