Creative Loafing's News & Politics Editor Mitch Perry and Out in Left Field columnist Catherine Durkin Robinson are finalists in the 2011 Society of Professional Journalists Sunshine State Awards.

Perry was cited in the Election Reporting category for his "post-election collection," including the stories "How the Dems got trashed," "He's the governor. Now what?" and "What will Rubio do?". Reporters from the Miami Herald and the Charlotte Sun are also finalists in the elections category.

Robinson is a finalist in the Humorous Commentary category for her OILF columns "The answer to everything," "Touchdown, Curtain Up" and "Toy story." Her competitors are columnists from the Naples Daily News.

Final results will be announced at an awards dinner in Hollywood, FL on June 11. Congratulations to them all.
