St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster had little new to report on the city’s relationship with the Tampa Bay Rays, prompted by a new business item from council member Leslie Curran during the August 18 St. Petersburg City Council meeting. Curran’s new business item regarding Tampa Bay Rays updates prompted a discussion on the council’s involvement in the city’s dealings with the Rays, and a 6-2 vote in favor of holding a council workshop on the lease agreement, with council Chair Jim Kennedy and council member Bill Dudley casting the no votes.
