There's no doubt the we were all moved by the unexpected death of pop icon George Michael late last year; St. Petersburg producer Roger Lanfranchi just decided to do something about it.

"I remember hearing that famous sax riff on one particular night at a bar in Tarpon Springs and thinking to myself that this needs to be reworked in trap style," Lanfranchi, who makes beats under the Rogerthomas moniker, told CL. He'd been working on a remix for a while, but decided to finally finish it after Michaels' passing.

The iconic sax line from the 1984 smash hit sounds a little different because it's performed by Asheville looping artist Tony Mozz.

Your next chance to catch a Rogerthomas set is March 1 when he does a Yoga on Tap set at Three Daughters Brewing. He'll also be at Gasparilla Music Festival, or you can catch Lanfanchi playing drums with Queen of Ex at Crowbar on February 26.
