Ready, set … Gasparilla Distance Classic Association will host its annual Publix Super Markets Gasparilla Distance Classic on Feb. 26 and 27 in downtown Tampa.
Participants have the option of running either a 15K, 5K, 5+3K or half marathon. Prices for current registration range from $30 to $75.
The 15K will begin at 7 a.m., on Feb. 26, and the 5K will begin at 9:30 a.m. The association is also hosting a 5K Walk & Stroller Roll for less serious children and adult participants.
The half marathon will begin on at 6 a.m. on Feb. 27, and the 5K and 3K will begin at 9 a.m.
All races will start at Bayshore Boulevard and Verne Street.
Registration is available online until Feb. 20. Late registration during the race weekend will be allowed with increased registration fees.
All runners must sign a Race Application Waiver and attend the 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo at the Tampa Convention Center to pick up race packets, T-shirts, ChronoTrack Timing devices and race numbers.
The Gasparilla Distance Classic Association was established in February 1978 and has since donated $2.8 million to the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa, Girls Inc. of Pinellas, the Friends of Tampa Parks & Recreation and other running programs.
