Patti Smith is coming to Tampa Bay this winter. The iconic singer-songwriter, activist, poet and author will appear at Sarasota’s Marie Selby Botanical Gardens on Feb. 15, according to the St. Pete Catalyst.
The lecture and performance from Smith is happening in celebration of the opening for a photography exhibition featuring work from Robert Mapplethorpe—“Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith: Flowers, Poetry, and Light”—which also features poetry and lyrics from Smith.
Mapplethorpe died in 1989, but Smith wrote about her collaborative relationship with him in a 2018 memoir, “Just Kids.”
