It was a tough job, but a satisfying one: choosing the ten finalists and overall winner of this year's 10/100/1000 Challenge, a joint effort of Creative Loafing and Creative Tampa Bay to promote ideas for making Tampa Bay a better place to live.

Tonight at CL Space (Creative Loafing's in-house events venue), we'll be announcing the finalists who made it to the Top 10 out of the more than 40 proposals submitted over the last several weeks. (Judges were myself, Ken Cowart, Julia Gorzka Freeman and last year's winner, Reuben Pressman of Swings Tampa Bay.)

The competition was strong; the proposals were solid; and all of our finalists are arguably worthy of the top prize. But CTB can give its $1,000 award to only one of the 10, and tonight that winner will be revealed at an awards presentation and reception that's open to the public and free of charge.
