Two hit Tampa Bay theater productions are now available for streaming: Lab Theater Project’s “Mayday: Captain Lerro and the Skyway Bridge” and Jobsite Theater’s “Shockheaded Peter.”
After wrapping its extended run, Jobsite’s macabre musical is available to view at home through July 22 ($14.99 gets you access to a 24-hour stream). This will be the last of the online viewing for Jobsite as the Tampa-based company turns its “attention to selling at full capacity come the fall,” Producing Artistic Director David Jenkins told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.
If you want something more permanent to remember “Shockheaded Peter” by, Jobsite’s Artistic Associate Spencer P. Meyers created souvenir paper dolls of the play’s colorful characters.
Lab Theater Projects’s one-man play about the 1980 local Skyway Bridge collapse tragedy is available online now until July 21, a 24-hour stream costs $22.
Theater is expensive, and Creative Loafing Tampa Bay devotes editorial budget to writing about it because it’s essential to cover local playwrights, actors and the venues that support them.
