Wednesday, topping an old record of 4,428 megawatts on June 25, 2019. “Rest assured, Tampa Electric has enough electricity to meet demand during this week’s unusually hot weather,” Archie Collins, the utility’s president and chief executive officer, said in a prepared statement Thursday.
“It is good to remember that this type of weather makes air conditioners work extra hard to keep you and your home or business cool.”
Tampa Electric has more than 800,000 customers in Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco and Pinellas counties.
