Largo's Arkane Aleworks has had a pretty great year. The Best Florida Beer Championships awarded the young brewery with three gold medals in March, as well as the title of Best Small Brewery in Florida. These accolades are among the accomplishments Arkane plans to celebrate during its second anniversary, driven by a rotating lineup of more than 50 taps.
Scheduled for noon to midnight June 30, the celebration spotlights a combination of old favorites and new creations. Some of the best beers that Arkane brews will make an appearance, including BFBC winners Gimme Swelter (mango habanero Florida weisse), Mezkin Blackbird (blackberry sage gose) and Yarmouth (sweet, full-bodied Scotch ale).
The revolving draft selection allows customers to sample a wide variety of pours throughout the day — while also grubbing on food truck fare from Good Food of Pinellas, Ramen & Waffles, Flip'n Tasty and Sexton's Pizza, of course.
The rain-or-shine bash is free to attend. However, patrons must use the brewery's token system to purchase beers, which come in either seven- or 14-ounce pours. Tokens — available near the front door (for those paying with cash) and at the bar register (for cash or credit) — cost $3 each.
