Last month, another java joint was added to the caffeinated mix in Clearwater. Knee Deep Coffee Shop debuted May 11 at 541 S. Ft. Harrison Ave., and the cozy hangout next to Bro's Pizzeria is ready to ring in its grand opening, beginning at 7 a.m. Friday.
Customers can take advantage of special beverage pricing during the celebration — including $1 12-ounce brewed coffees, $2 cold brew and $3 12-ounce lattes — as well as live music. There's a raffle, too, which offers the chance to win a coffee-themed gift basket.
Knee Deep, BTW, showcases more than coffee, though the menu does a good job of covering cafe stalwarts. A few additional options are mocktails made with cold brew and freshly pressed drinks like the Choco-Banana Frappe (banana, cocoa, espresso), strawberry lemonade and Green Shake (kale, pineapple, banana, almond milk).
But don't tell CL's A&E editor, Cathy Salustri, that the shop also carries free-range marshmallows. She recently went on a "taste adventure" with craft marshmallows in Sanford, and she'll likely lose her shit over the "free-range" variety.
