Southern food traditions are some of the tastiest America has to offer, and next Friday Locale Market is offering amped-up takes on some of those familiar, flavorful recipes at its St. Pete Soul First Friday.
"It's comfort food kicked up a notch," said executive chef Jeffrey Hileman in a press release. The menu includes contemporary takes on chicken and waffles, sweet corn hushpuppies, fish and grits, Hoppin' John smoked ham and banana pudding, and they'll be piping old-school soul tunes into the market to add to the vibe. Call us hungry (and also perhaps a little too snobby for our own good), but this definitely sounds like a delicious alternative to the hustle and flow of downtown's regular First Friday shenanigans.
The grubbin' gets down starting at 6 p.m. on April 6. Tickets are $19.99, and you can add a beer and wine tasting package for an additional $9.99. Grab 'em here before they're gone.
