The end is nigh for Paul Simon's performing career, but he's coming to Tampa before it's all said and done.

Today, the 76-year-old American folk music icon announced that final leg of his farewell tour ever would hit Tampa's Amalie Arena on September 7.

Tickets for the show will cost fans $50-$150 and go on sale this Friday, March 16 at 10 a.m. EDT.

I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I'd consider bringing my performing career to a natural end," Simon wrote in a press release.

"Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief. I love making music, my voice is still strong, and my band is a tight, extraordinary group of gifted musicians. I think about music constantly. I am very grateful for a fulfilling career and, of course, most of all to the audiences who heard something in my music that touched their hearts.”

Other Florida cities on the tour include Orlando (September 11 at Amway Center) and Ft. Lauderdale (September 8 at BB&T Center).

Simon — who came to fame as one half of Simon & Garfunkel — placed 29 singles in the Billboard Top 40. More than a dozen of them landed the Top 10 or higher, including “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” (which reached #1), “Kodachrome,” “Loves Me Like A Rock,” “Mother and Child Reunion,” “Late In The Evening” and “You Can Call Me Al.”

No word on whether or not Julio is coming. More information and tickets are available via local.cltampa.com.
