Purple Hatter’s Ball organizers are still remembering Rachel at the beautiful Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, and today the festival announced its initial lineup for the 2018 edition, which happens on June 1 and 2.
Massachusetts funk unit Lettuce — who we last saw in January 2017 — will be there, and so will Phoenix improvissarios Spafford (who sold out Crowbar in Ybor City last month).

Members of The Disco Biscuits and Break Science are also coming together to form a jam-band supergroup, Breaking Biscuits. Florida favorites the Heavy Pets show up along with Roosevelt Collier Trio, Toubab Krewe and MZG (which is playing Ybor with Marvel Years on March 16).
A limited number of $49 early bird “Morningstar Miracle Tickets” (named for Rachel Morningstar Hoffman a 23-year-old Florida State University graduate. She was murdered while acting as a police informant during a drug sting that started on May 7, 2008) go on sale Friday, March 9 at 12 p.m.
According to a press release, tickets will include two days of music and primitive camping. Mama Margie VIP upgrades that include two dinners backstage with artists and staff, an event poster and tee shirt and preferred viewing are available for $199. For a limited time, the park is also offering a $400 option to fest with an air-conditioned one bedroom cabin and a golf cart.
