Schizo-pop, third coast surf; call it whatever you want, but the music on The Sun Machine’s 2017 album, Turn On To Evil, sounds like twisted psychedelic rock to us. Just listen to the Beach Boys-esque harmonies that open “I Want To Do Drugs (With You),” the first track off the album the Austin, Texas quintet arrives in Ybor to support. If you’re a fan of Florida acts like FayRoy or the Woolly Bushmen, then you’ll want to be at The Bricks on Wednesday for this free show alongside Tampa indie-pop band Hello Joyce.
The Sun Machine w/Hello Joyce. Wed. Sept. 26, 8 p.m. No cover. The Bricks, 1327 E. 7th Ave., Ybor City. INFO.
