There’s no shortage of Tabañero at Tropicana Field. The South Florida hot sauce has been crowned the Official Hot Sauce of the Tampa Bay Rays, because why not?
First released in 2011 and available at several supermarket chains, Tabañero comes in three flavors — original, extra hot and spicy agave — and is available at condiment carts around the St. Petersburg ballpark. Specifically, ticket holders can score some dashes at the First and Third Base Food Halls and in the Center Field Street concessions area.
The Rays’ new Tabañero partnership also bestows baseball fans with giveaways throughout the season. Starting in mid-April, for example, shoppers who buy two bottles of hot sauce at Publix will receive two free lower-level tickets to a home game — with proof of purchase, of course. (Tabañero’s products are $7 a pop, just FYI.)
“It truly is a perfect match combining a great American pastime and an all-American hot sauce that is made right here in Florida just minutes from Tropicana Field,” said Tabañero CEO Danny Vitelli in a statement.
