St. Petersburg's Globe Coffee Lounge announced Monday that it will reopen for a special Black Friday "pop-up" at the Local 662.
You can get your Globe (and former owner JoEllen Schilke) fix on Fri., Nov. 29, when the beloved but now-defunct Globe will be (per their Facebook page) serving up, "breakfast yummies, sandwiches, some Globe classics, drinks, brownies and some other desserts, and lots and lots (and lots) of luv. xoxo."
Nearly two years after closing, St. Petersburg has yet to produce a suitable replacement for the late-night coffeehouse staple. Perhaps it never will.
Get ready to line-up early the day after Thanksgiving for Supa-fudgey brownies and ironic coffee mugs — although those may have been sold off at the closing sale, now that I think about it. More details to come …
Fri., Nov. 29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Local 662, 662 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
