It’s one of our favorite, yummiest, dirtiest (but in a good way) events every year: Eat Rich, Play Dirty at the Morean Center for Clay. What is it? It’s your chance to drink some bubbles — good ones, eat some food — actually, a lot of food, and play in clay — you can take a shot on the wheel or hand-build. There’s also live music, and did we mention the food’s all from local restaurants?

It’s one thing to attend a frou-frou black-tie fundraiser for The Arts, but it’s another to get down and dirty and experience the benefits of where you money goes. Clay, especially, is a lot of fun (and occasionally frustrating), so this particular event usually sparks creativity and a child-like sense of wonder (as much as one can be childlike whilst downing red wine) in everyone there. Plus, the Morean Center for Clay is a gem in St. Petersburg, because it’s an old train station and the history is literally written all over the place (take a look at what’s written on the bricks and see what we mean).
