The Museum of Fine Arts continues its monthly part-biography, part-performance-art, part-time-machine series Coffee Talk. Once a month, resident actress and storyteller Nan Colton portrays historical women and depicts their lives in a 30-minute presentation alongside coffee and pastries. In July, she’ll cover the life of Marion Mahony Griffin, an underrated but wildly influential architect, notable for being not just the first licensed female architect in Illinois, or the first employee of Frank Lloyd Wright, but for her Japanese-inspired painting style used to depict her and Wright’s buildings in their now-iconic concept art, which changed the way architecture is perceived around the world.
