✔️Def Leppard w/Journey Someone is plugging the jukebox from your local pool hall into a giant PA at Amalie on Sunday night. Selections include “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Photograph,” “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open Arms.” This is easily the classic rock tour of the summer, and tickets are getting pretty scarce as the day approaches. (Amalie Arena, Tampa) INFO
✔️ Coppertail Fourth Anniversary w/DieAlps!/Fast Talkers/Expert Timing Coppertail is switching its anniversary party protocol up by moving away from its Florida Weisse mini-fest format. “There will still be tons of Berliners on tap,” the brewery promised, “but we are expanding the event to include more diverse styles.” The party also gets a fresh lineup of music care of BOTB-winning indie-rock band DieAlps! plus one of Orlando, Florida’s best punk-rock exports, Expert Timing. Cheech Nobregas’ own indie-rock band Fast Talkers plays support on the free show which opens to the public at 1 p.m. (Coppertail Brewing, Ybor City) INFO
OUR CITY
DieAlps!’s full-length debut is an indie-rock record Tampa can be proud of
Bargain Bin Heroes w/Unchecked Aggression/Victims of Circumstance Former members of After the Fact (now touring as Bargain Bin Heroes) bring high-energy ska and punk (is there such a thing as low-energy ska and punk?) to Fubar, where Bay area outfits Victims of Circumstance and Unchecked Aggression invite their fans to come hear the kind of noise that their friends from Fort Myers are making these days. This show is free, but you must be 21 years old to get in. (Fubar, St. Petersburg) INFO
Leon Majcen w/Taylor Raynor You can normally find Leon Majcen strumming relatively anonymously at c. 1949’s acoustic guitar nights, but the Tampa songwriter will command the audience’s full attention at this, the album release for a new record, Numb, which is the follow up to the Prague-born crooner’s 2017 debut, Love & Misery. (Hideaway Café, St. Petersburg) INFO
NEW TODD
Todd Rundgren sticks to the newer stuff at St. Pete’s Mahaffey Theater
Todd Rundgren Todd Rundgren stuck to the newer stuff in his May 2017 performance at Mahaffey Theater, and you’re gonna need a ticket to see what the 70-year-old rocker pulls out at this far-more-intimate, and very sold-out, Capitol Theatre show, which the man himself has billed as an “unpredictable evening with.” (Capitol Theater, Clearwater) SOLD OUT
Coffee Project w/Mike Llerena & The Nerve/Sandspur City Stalwarts of the late-’90s and early-2000s Florida punk scene converge in Seminole Heights on Saturday when Gainesville’s Coffee Project (featuring Less than Jake trombonist Buddy Schaub) joins Dave Decker’s old-school Tampa band Sandspur City and another northern Florida outfit — Mike Llerena & The Nerve — whose sound Infectious Magazine described as what would happen “if The Decemberists and Green Day had a baby.” This show is early and all-ages. (Microgroove, Tampa) INFO

✔️ They Hate Change Album Release w/Blestian/Charles Irwin They Hate Change’s new LP, Now & Never Again, isn’t one of those instantly digestible releases that pops up on Spotify playlists meant for passive listening, but it is 11 tracks of lo-fi hip-pop that challenges and then rewards fans after repeated spins. The Tampa production duo celebrates its release with this free late-night show alongside another electro-leaning duo, Blestian, plus Bay area songwriter Charles Irwin. (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO
✔️ Sheath w/BiteMarks/Vacancy/Reality Asylum/Nervous Girls Fans who miss since-disbanded Chicago powerviolence quartet Weekend Nachos may want to mosey on over to St. Petersburg on Saturday night when members of that band bring a new electro and shoegaze project, Sheath, to Lucky You. Gainesville’s Bitemarks will provide the hardcore, and Vacancy promises to warm your ears up with its own brand of noise rock after the Nervous Girls and new wave-y St. Pete trio Reality Asylum open the show. All-ages, but bring $8 for the touring bands. (Lucky You Tattoo, St. Petersburg) INFO

Not-so-prehistoric electro-pop from Pixelsaur has piqued CL’s interest along with sets by Orlando R&B singer Xcelencia and Tampa production duo Trapfone. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO
