CL is kinda upset we didn't know that St. Petersburg's Kozuba & Sons Distillery makes vodka-in-a-box until now. It's fine… we'll just be over here mixing Thanksgiving cocktails with Smirnoff at Grandma's.
In any case, Kozuba introduced recyclable boxes of Coast Vodka earlier this month. The family-run distillery uses raw spirits from another family-run distillery in Cognac to craft this French wheat vodka on-site.
Purposefully more portable than its tubby glass brethren, the 1.75-liter Coast is equal to 2.33 bottles of booze.
Drinkers eager to get a taste of the new small-batch spirit can find it at Kozuba, or on the shelves of select locations for ABC Fine Wine & Spirits. The best part is that $1 from every retail sale supports the Coastal Conservation Association Florida.
But before Coast came along, the distillery's first eco-friendly vodka-in-a-box, B Square, rolled out. Total Wine & More started stocking B Square, which is also a 1.75-liter creation, in May.
"We wanted to create an unforgettable vodka that allows you to create experiences within your lifestyle, and B square does just that," wrote Kozuba in a Facebook update on Oct. 4, annually observed as National Vodka Day.
Anybody thinking these two — count 'em, two — boxed vodkas are such an obviously Floridian holiday gift idea? Us, too.
