In Tampa's Seminole Heights, a local, sustainable seafood market is coming along across from Trip's Diner. Heights Seafood Co. expects to premiere at 6421 N. Florida Ave., where the neighborhood's Green Room had a short run, next month.
Heights Seafood Co. plans to feature a mix of retail items and prepared foods, meaning the day's fresh catches will mingle with offerings like poke, smoked fish spreads, ceviche and ready-to-go meals. But more than anything, quality seafood — everything from yellowtail to gulf shrimp — is the focus.
Most recently, the newcomer teased social media with photos of its citrus-honey smoked salmon and jerkies, plus a cooler of hogfish.
"Moving right along on our target date of opening the first week of December," reads a Nov. 11 Facebook update from Heights Seafood Co. "Thanks for all your support."
