Author David Powell will be discussing his new book, “Ninety Miles and a Lifetime Away: Memories of Early Cuban Exiles,” with St. Petersburg writer and journalist Craig Pittman at Tombolo Books on Tuesday, June 28 at 7 p.m.

Powell’s book is a sweeping oral history of the migration of 600,000 Cubans who came to the U.S. within the first 15 years of Castro’s reign.

Joining Powell and Pittman is Tampa local Jose E. Valiente, one of the book’s narrators.
