There’s a misconception that DJ-ing is a thing of the past, but Tampa Bay is home to a robust turntablist scene that includes plenty of young talent. Taking place each month off Westshore Boulevard, the International DJ Cafe is open to all skill sets and ages and aims to be a safe place for DJs to discuss industry trends, showcase turntablism and participate in listening sessions. The Tampa chapter meets for an afternoon session on Sunday, and you can bet your ass that members will all be at Ol’ Dirty Sundays (where Virginia’s Mad Skillz is the featured guest) afterwards.
