Attention, Clearwater shoppers: Sprouts Farmers Market has announced its grand opening date. The health-minded store at 23656 U.S. Highway 19 N. will debut at 7 a.m. Jan. 16.
The first 200 customers receive 20 percent off their initial purchase. However, everyone in line before the 32,000-square-foot location premieres will nab muffin and coffee samples.
Sprouts Clearwater is Tampa Bay's sixth store from the Phoenix-based specialty grocery chain, which puts an emphasis on fresh and organic goods. Dakin Dairy Farms, Humanitea, 221 B.C. Kombucha and Terrapin Ridge Farms are among the local brands for sale.
The new store will also donate unsold, edible groceries to Feeding Tampa Bay. The chain's Food Rescue program, which furthers its commitment to zero food waste, turned 23 million pounds of product into donations in 2017.
After the grand opening, Taste of Sprouts is planned for Sprouts Clearwater Jan. 19, when shoppers can try a lineup of customer favorites and trending items.
Sprouts operates around the region in South Tampa, Carrollwood, Palm Harbor, Valrico and Sarasota. Additional locations are coming to Trinity and Riverview.
