Tampa Bay is racking up popular chains thanks to Guthrie’s Chicken and Jollibee, and next on the menu is New Jersey-based chain, Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a build-your-own burrito and bowl fast-casual joint.
The chain is shooting for five locations, according to TBBJ, which reported that Bubbakoo's has signed a franchise deal with two local restaurateurs, Mike Goodwin and Tracey Garrison who are co-owners of Tampa Joe’s Restaurant & Sports Bar.
As of right now, no official locations are locked down, but what we can start looking forward to are the eats that Bubbakoo’s Burritos serves. Diners choose their meal through a four-step process; first, choose an entree (three tacos, taco salad, quesadilla, or nachos). The next step is choosing the protein (ranging in vegan and meat-eater options), followed by your choice of toppings like rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, etc. Finally, the diner chooses an optional flavor like buffalo, sriracha or butt-burning ghost pepper.
The restaurant also serves up sides like chips and dip, tater tots, curly fries, chicken dippers, jalapeño poppers and Southwest egg rolls.
Bubbakoo's might want to stay out of South Tampa, being that there are already seven Tex-Mex concepts hogging up the block. More details to come as locations are announced.
