If there was a Bay area dean of jazz guitar, it might be LaRue Nickelson.

The 49-year-old (who is actually a 23-year instructor at University of South Florida’s School of Music) is modest about his composing ability, grasp of harmonic theory, and the unique voice of the instrument when it’s in his hands, but he (thankfully) regularly gigs and makes an appearance at this intimate Seminole Heights shop for a BYOB show.

Tickets to see LaRue Nickelson at Tampa’s Far Forest on Sunday, Nov. 12 are still available and cost $15.
