Last October, Seminole Height's Revolution Ice Cream launched a weekend pop-up truck in front of its forthcoming third location at 4032A W. Kennedy Blvd. in South Tampa. But over the weekend, the shop took to Instagram to announce that the pop-up shop is no longer in service.

"Unfortunately as of today the pop up hours have been discontinued. The fire marshal didn’t like the way we were powering the truck and their word is always over ours. We should be OPEN in early MARCH so you it won’t be long before Kennedy Blvd will have it’s very own Rev!"

Thankfully, the opening of the third location is around the corner, so South Tampa won't have to wait long until they get their hands on signature flavors like "Greetings from the 813" made up of cafe con leche ice cream with a chocolate truffle ribbon and a salty caramel ribbon. Vegan options are also on the menu for those who don't want to miss out on creamy concoctions. By the way, Revolution offers CBD-infused edibles comprised of brownie batter ice cream with cookie dough chunks.

Until then, slide by the Brandon location at 220 W. Brandon Blvd. or the Seminole Heights shop at 6701 N. Florida Ave.

More details to come as the official opening date for the third location is open.

UPDATE 2/5/20: Jason Penny of Tampa Fire Rescue told CL in a phone call that the Revolution Ice Cream truck was not shutdown, and explained that after inspection of the truck's operation, the business was given a choice to continue on a temporary basis as long as they found an alternate power source. According to Perry, "temporary basis" can mean up to 30 days.
