It's time! The first Tampa Bay Jollibee location is officially opening its doors to the public at 9 a.m. tomorrow, January 17. If the Filipino fast-food restaurant known for serving up golden Chickenjoy is on your way to work, plan a different route. Going to stake out some space at 4057 Park Blvd N. in Pinellas Park to ensure you get some of the first bites? Beware of traffic jams and limited parking.
Some highlighted menu items you can look forward to include:
- Chicken Sandwich: It’s crispy and tasty, made with a 100% hand-breaded chicken breast fillet, with a special brioche bun, garlic aioli sauce, lettuce and tomatoes.
- Jolly Spaghetti: Features Jollibee’s signature sweet-style sauce loaded with chunky slices of savory ham and hotdog.
- Palabok Fiesta: A traditional Filipino noodle dish covered in garlic sauce, crushed pork rind, shrimp, and egg.
- Burger Steak: A uniquely seasoned burger patty topped with creamy mushroom gravy.
- Peach Mango Pie: Dessert made with real Philippine mangoes that are world-renowned for their distinct sweetness, enclosed in a flaky crust.
If you're familiar with Jollibee grand opening celebrations, you know that massive crowds show up for prizes awarded to those who are among the first in line. This grand opening won't be any different. Today 50 fans were able to get an advanced tasting of the menu for 50 lucky through a social media campaign. If you weren't lucky enough to get in on the action, you can still cash in on the festivities but you might want to call in sick to work to make it happen.
Tomorrow Jollibee will award one year's supply of Chickenjoy to the first 50 people in line who make a purchase of $25 or more worth of food.
Need a little trinket to commemorate this moment? Jollibee plans on awarding the coveted Jollibee in Special Barong Tagalog (the national formal attire of the Philippines) Funko Pop! figures to the first 50 customers in line carrying the most unique banners or posters with the hashtag, #ItsOurTurn. Jollibee will award drawstring bags to the first 300 customers on opening day, then to the first 100 customers on the second and third days of business, with a $25 purchase.
The store hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. for opening day.
