TIMELOST / ADAM DEGROSS

Set and Setting’s music always wore an oozing, thick layer of haze on it, but a new project from the St. Petersburg band’s Shane Handal finds him making noisy grunge-rock with the metronome turned up a notch. Timelost—a group Handal formed with Grzesiek Czapla, bassist for Philadelphia black metal group Woe—released a four-song demo in 2018, and was working with producer Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, Nothing, War On Drugs) to record a full-length album that summer.

That LP, Don’t Remember Me For This, arrived last fall and now Handal and Czapla are back in town in support of a B-sides EP released last week. This St. Petersburg gig where subgenre-hopping rock outfit Jensen Serf Co. and Tampa’s Hi-Beam open is one of two free gigs from Timelost (the other happens at Tampa’s American Legion Seminole Post 111 on Saturday.)
