If you’ve ever frittered away a perfectly good afternoon trolling Etsy, the online emporium for all things handmade, well, hang on to your hat (knitted, felted, crocheted or otherwise). Crafting Out Loud, Tampa’s own monthly urban craft fair, brings local compulsively creative types together under one roof to hawk their wares. It just might be the perfect place to pick up some one-of-a-kind gear for your pad — vintage plates decorated with original art, a bowl made out of a vinyl record album, or a toaster cozy (always an appropriate gift). Perhaps something a bit more wearable? Pick from oodles of jewelry, purses and bags, and leaf-shaped baby bibs (by melimade) so lovely that even the happily childless will covet them. Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop, near USF, hosts the event. Grab a latte and a spot on a couch as you bask in the satisfaction of having bought something from the person who actually made it and not, say, Target. Sat., Aug. 5, 7 p.m.-midnight, 4819 E. Busch Blvd., Tampa, 813-983-0837.
