Based on a short story by Jerry B. Jenkins, Midnight Clear is a bleak Christmas drama that follows five down-on-their-luckers whose paths intersect on Christmas Eve in the Arizona desert. Among them are Lefty (played by Stephen Baldwin), a middle-aged alcoholic whose unending troubles have cost him his wife, his child, his home and his job; and Eva (K Callan), a senior citizen who seems to be suffering from dementia. Both have reached a critical turning point in their lives, and both are contemplating suicide. The full-length feature premieres this Tuesday night at Tampa Theatre. Baldwin serves as the guest of honor and will be present at the V.I.P. reception that precedes the screening. Proceeds from the event benefit the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.
