Bonneville Salt Flats, UT — There isn't a whole lot more to say about Utah â not enough booze, too many wives, yada yada yada â but we found more to see. Just a few miles from the Nevada state line (and a few miles after a well-placed Morton's salt factory), Ma and I stopped to check out a verifiable salt lake. Here's how it looks:
The 'Foot Wash' is meant to be used after one sets foot in the lake, which happens to not actually be a lake but a pile of damp salt. Granulated, sticky, white-as-sin salt. You can pick it up by the handful.
