2010.

Just typing it makes me feel weird, like it's something out of Star Trek.

Twenty-ten: it just sounds like the future. And if it is the future, then the future is now. And while the future may, as always, remain uncertain — it's not entirely unwritten. At least not for comic fans. (Solicits for 2010 comics hit the web months ago.)

It is said that to understand the future, one need only look to the past. So with the first comics of the decade on the stands less than a week, I present:

10. Secret Invasion: Inhumans #4

Nothing says love like impaling your husband's captor with your own hair.

Take Medusa, Queen of the Inhumans.

After her King was taken hostage and impersonated by the shape-shifting alien Skrulls during Marvel's Secret Invasion, she did as any loving wife with the ability to wield her stronger-than-steel hair would do.

She led a battalion against the enemy, infiltrated their base and cleaned house. That's some serious hairspray. (Drag queens, take note.)
