It's the summer after my senior year in high school. My best buddy at the time, Gaither High School middle linebacker Jason Ancer, drives a bunch of us to the liquor store in Northdale. We go in to purchase the booze and return to find Ancer singing along to "Summer Nights" from the Grease soundtrack CD, which his actor girlfriend, Amanda Allan (yes, that's her spoofing Spears), had left in the car.
Having two younger sisters, I watched Grease more times than I care to admit during my childhood. Looking back, it's a great flick. And I smile every time I hear "Summer Nights," especially when I picture Jason singing it. Enjoy.
