Sometimes, superstars of Florida music come together for a show that makes you feel like you’re living in the country’s best metro for original music.

Next Thursday’s a little like that, with a special experimental show happening at the MFA St. Pete, and this one going down less than three miles away in the warehouse arts district.

R&B/pop outfit Animal Prince, from Gainesville, is more-or-less an adopted child of the scene, while harp-and-drum outfit Katara has long held it down as one of the tightest, thrilling live acts to come out of the area in the last decade.

Chance Reynolds had to drop out of the lineup, but multi-instrumentalist Roger Thomas has been added to the bill and will spin under the DJ Capybara moniker.

Tickets are $27 for Katara w/Animal Prince/DJ Capybara happening Thursday, July 10 in St. Pete.
